Today we logged our first webcam cache. We tried it on our first day of geocaching but we were one block off, we had called Ted to have him help us find it by watching on the computer, but he was unable to as he was still at work. Today Kathy was with her friend Pam and her kids Zach and Ryanna, they went to the area and I sat at the computer and helped them identify things seen in the web cam. That's Kathey, AKA, GeogrammaK, AKA Geogramma2 in red on the phone to me on the other end. Next to finding the camera, capturing the image was challenging to, but I finally caught the image as flashed by.

This is a new blog for our, Kathy and Connie's, new past time, Geocaching, or our version of the Amazing Race. This blog is set up, I hope, to where we both will be able to add entries from our own computers, we'll see. I am Connie and I am making the first entry cause Kathy hasn't accepted the invitation to our blog yet.

Today was a lot of fun. I drove and Kathy was the navigator. That in itself was funny. We are both beginners at this. For our equipment we used Ted's laptop computer, which has a gps in it and the screen is nice and big for the grammas eyes, a hand held gps for when we arrive at the site and get out of the car to look for the cache and the gps that is part of the Jeep this one is our back up incase we get lost.

We also had with us; Camera, 2 cell phones, notebook, pencil.

We chose 3 geocaches to attempt today, one in Prosser, two in Richland.

After I picked up Kathy out in Whoville we set out on our first quest, Illusorily Inconsiderable Investment . This one I screwed up on, for our first ones I wanted to keep it on the easy side, cause we don't really know what we're doing, we do, but we have to use our thinkers alot and learn new stuffs. I didn't pay attention in making this choice, cause I was choosing what they call virtual caches, one's where you see or observe something, this one was an actual cache, we were suppose to find a container of some sort, but because I thought I picked a virtual, which led us astray, we only observed, we observed a very nice spot in Prosser, Wa.

But we didn't count it today cause we didn't look for a cache. That's Kathy at the site. Note to selves: add tripod to stuff to take along so we can both be in pictures together at times, I forgot to have Kathy take my picture here, but that is me behind the camera.

After that we found our way back to Richland to find the next two. We found Days Pay at Richland High School, when you find a cache you can go to the geocache website and make an entry about your find. This is our first logged entry.

Next it we were off to find Nuts to you. This one was fun, it was easy to find who it was dedicated to, the challenge was figuring out what Nuts to you refers to. But we did it and we didn't put these pictures up when we logged the site as a find because it would spoil it for others.

WE SEE IT!
WE SEE IT!!

DA SQUIRREL! DA SQUIRREL!!

We had a lot of fun doing this and plan to do more, so stay tuned, cause that's not all folks.
